How we quote, what a confirmed order means, and what each of us is responsible for.
Who you are dealing with
This site is operated by [REGISTERED ENTITY NAME — TO BE CONFIRMED], trading as AAKAR, at B-199, Mansarovar Garden, New Delhi 110015. GSTIN [GSTIN — TO BE CONFIRMED]. Using this site, or placing an order through it, means accepting these terms.
Quotations
Prices shown on this site are for the piece as described. Because most of what we make is made to order, the final price depends on the size, the fabric or finish you choose, and the hardware — so a quotation is issued in writing and is itemised before any work begins.
A written quotation is fixed for the work it describes. If you change the specification afterwards, we requote rather than absorb it quietly.
Orders
An order is confirmed when we have your written approval of the specification and the agreed payment has been received. We confirm in writing, including the date production is due to begin and the date the piece is due to be finished.
We may decline an order. Where we do, anything already paid is returned in full.
Payment
Payment terms are stated on the quotation. An advance covers material bought for your piece and the workshop time reserved for it, both of which are real costs incurred before anything is delivered.
Where payment is taken online it is processed by a payment gateway regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. We do not see or store your card details.
Cancelling
An order can be cancelled in full, with no deduction, until production begins. After that a made-to-order piece cannot be cancelled, because the material has been cut to your dimensions. The full position is in the refunds and cancellations policy.
Delivery
Dates given for completion and delivery are given in good faith and we work to them. Where something outside our control delays a piece we tell you as soon as we know, rather than at the point you ask.
How pieces are packed, dispatched and delivered is set out in the shipping and delivery policy.
The material
Timber is a natural material. Grain, colour and figure vary between boards and between trees, and solid wood moves with the season — more so in Delhi than in most places. That variation is the material behaving normally, not a fault, and we will tell you honestly where solid timber is the wrong choice for a particular room.
Photographs on this site and on our Instagram show real pieces. Colour on a screen is not colour in a room, and we would rather you saw a sample than relied on a photograph.
If something is wrong
Transit damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery. A manufacturing fault is ours regardless of when it appears — tell us and we will put it right. Both are set out in the refunds policy.
What we own
The designs, drawings, photographs and text on this site belong to us. Please do not reuse them without asking. Asking is usually fine.
Limits
We are responsible for the work we do and for putting right what we get wrong. We are not responsible for losses that do not follow from the work itself. Nothing here limits any right you have under Indian consumer law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Delhi have jurisdiction.
